Into the Woods

Director: Laura Lloyd
Sound Design: Dale Marshall Pickard
Incorporating Live Microphone usage and sound effect playback, we were able to create a fantastical world of giants, talking birds, and witches transformations.

Effects found and used to create a sense of comedy to the actions onstage, and build a sense of suspense.

Using small sections of recordings of english sparrows chirping, I cut small sentance-sized sections out for these tracks. I then overlayed the track multiple times with copies where the pitch had been slighly upshifted or downshifted, to make it appear that there were more birds than the one in the original recording.
Picture
Using a combination of twig snaps, leaves rustling, and low explosion sound effects, I created individually designed footfalls for the Giantesses approach.
